STEEL SIDING AND ROOF PANELS OF 29 GAUGE STEEL.

 BUT RED IS MY FAVORITE.

STEEL SIDING
     When we install the steel panels on a barn, we prepare the surface first. We install furring strips (2x4 or 1x3) to the inside logs or roof boards using lag bolts or long screws to ensure a durable base to hold the steel to the wall or roof.
     Then we screw the steel to the furring strips using 11/2" screws with a rubber neoprene washer to seal out water. Sometimes we screw the steel directly over the existing wood siding if the surface is solid. We only use screws, no nails.
     We also build new sliding doors with new track and rollers. The overhang is covered with aluminum or steel to finish off the project.
 
STEEL ROOF PANELS
     1 X 3 furring strips are fastened over 2 to 3 layers of shingles (no tear offs).
We use 3" to 5" screws to fasten 1X3s to the roof boards. Then we fasten the steel roof panels with 1 1/2" hex head screws with rubber neoprene washers.
